LIFE Be-WoodEN final conference
You are kindly invited to the final conference of the LIFE Be-WoodEN project, “Tackling embodied carbon through wooden construction. The role of bio-based materials and the New European Bauhaus in building greener futures”, which will be held on 3 December 2025, in Brussels, at the Salle de Guichet, BIP Meeting Centre, Rue Royale 2-4.
The event is part of the programme of the Decarbonisation Summit, organised by Housing Europe and held 3-4 December 2025 at the BIP Meeting Centre.
At the conference project partners will present how the LIFE Be-WoodEN project encourages the use of wood and natural materials to reach zero-emission goals and follow the principles of the New European Bauhaus (NEB). Participants will hear about practical examples, such as the co-design of shared spaces in social housing in Liguria and enjoy an exhibition featuring an award for the best project.
Dr. Andreja Kutnar will present the New European Bauhaus Academy Alliance (NEBA Alliance), which is coordinated by the University of Primorska. She will emphasize its main activities to ensure high quality training for higher education, VET, and life-long learning in the construction sector across Europe.
The LIFE Be-WoodEN project, inspired by the NEB initiative, promotes the use of wood and natural materials in construction to reduce carbon emissions and support sustainability in the building sector. Project partners are developing new learning opportunities, strengthening professionals’ skills, and exploring eco-friendly solutions for modern and affordable housing.
